2/2/25 Diary Comic and Catch-Up #2
First thing first, here's today's (yesterday's) diary comic:
This one, and some of the older ones I went to scan, ended up looking a lot better like this than in a scan, since some of the penciling I do is pretty light. What do y'all think? Worth scanning these or not? Anyway, here's the rest of the catch-up comics I want to post, with some limited comments from me:
At this point I had already stopped drawing diary comics consistently, but I really wanted to draw Kochalka how he draws himself in American Elf in my diary. For reference, here's a panel from very early Elf:
When Kochalka was in class, I drew this riffing off something he had shown us, and later he laughed at it. Not going to develop a complex about it or anything but it was obviously very validating!
I picked it back up for the New Year, but still wasn't very consistent with it again until getting back to school.
Easily one of my favorites. Around when I realized that I could change up the format if I wanted, since I wasn't doing this for an assignment anymore.
From here on out I'm going to try to not give captions to the comics—I think its good to be confident enough in them to let them speak for themselves, I guess, even though that sounds dramatic. But is me saying that not letting this blog post speak for itself? Whatever.
waow that's me!
